to accompany guster's new single from the album easy wonderful: "do you love me."
to those who stick it out, to my friends, i love you.

maybe ironic

that i'm posting this on a blog. but here it is.

What happened to mysterious?

moral compass.

"''Live each day as if it's your last,' that was the conventional advise, but really, who had the energy to do that? What if it rained or you felt a bit glandy? It just wasn't practical. Better by far to simply try and be good and courageous and bold and to make a difference. Not change the world exactly, but the bit around you. Go out there with your passion and your electric typewriter and work hard at ... something. Change lives through art maybe. Cherish your friends, stay true to your principles live passionately and fully and well. Experience new things. Love and be loved, if you ever get the chance."

Yesterday I finished One Day by David Nicholls. I'm still not entirely sure how I felt about the book, but I really felt like I knew the characters. That I liked. And I cried at the end. And this quote pretty much sums up my philosophy on how I want to live my life.

I really like this video from Jean-Luc Goddard's Band of Outsiders. I want to learn that dance. The narration sounds like Amelie.

So it's just about that time (4 days away, when I am really really excited to move back to Austin and into my apartment) that I begin to feel homesick and nostalgic.

a bow on your finger.

things to do:

1. boggy creek farm, austin, texas.
2. corral walk-in theatre, wimberley, texas.
3. krause springs, spicewood, texas.
4. all of these restaurants.

fin!

after long last, my internship is finished.
not going to lie, i'm looking forward to some downtime at home for family and friends (really, just you jro) and then moving to austin. i do want to wrap up a bit.

so, things i learned:
1. no one actually starts to work at 9. gather around the coffeepot to catch up with people before locking yourself in your room/office.
2. make friends to learn the unspoken rules.
3. for whatever reason, your boss will always give you shotgun when you're riding in the car.
4. make an effort to tag along with anyone leaving the office.
5. offer assistance and opinions.
6. i do not want to work a 9-5.30 job.
7. i do want to work at a non-profit.
8. when waiting outside someone's door, it's okay to leave and come back, instead of just standing around awkwardly waiting. or, send an email. perfectly acceptable.

++ 100 colors & 100 days of writing (jennifer robichaux, this is your summer project.)

++ field notes, why are you so beautiful?

++ i'm totally in love with the t.25 car. it's designed to be recycled once it's life is up, and made into another car. it's gets 61 mpg and is smaller than a smart car, but fits 3 adults. smart redesign. i'm also loving the diorama photos.
